This is a Sandler movie about a person named Henry Roth, who is the most unwilling to commit guy possible in the beginning of the movie. But he meets one person in a cafe one day as he is awaiting the coast guard to fix his boat (he lives in Hawaii). Then his personality seems to change compleatly. The next day he returns to see her again, to find out that she doesn't remember him at all.
Lucy has a problem where she has no short term memory any longer than one day ago. She has all her long term memory, but no short term. So she knows who she is, but she can't remember anything that happened yesterday - for the past year.
Review:
Albeit this is a rather extreme situation, it is still a great movie. Lucy begins to remember Henry subconsciously, so that by the end of the movie she starts painting him even though they haven't seem each other for some time at that point.
"I wouldn't surf with a bleeding wound like that. You might attract a shark or something."
"What's wrong with that, cuz? Sharks are naturally peaceful."
"Is that right? How'd you get that nasty cut anyway?"
"A shark bit me."
"Nice! Go smoke another one, bro!"
